7 Easy ways to Improve at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

  1. Train consistently: Consistency is key when it comes to getting good at BJJ. Aim to train at least 2-3 times per week, and make sure to attend both drilling and live sparring sessions.
  2. Learn the fundamentals: Make sure you have a solid understanding of the basic techniques and principles of BJJ. This will serve as the foundation for your progress.
  3. Drill, drill, drill: Repetition is crucial in BJJ. Drill the techniques you learn until they become second nature
  4. Watch and learn from others: Watch high-level BJJ players and learn from their techniques, strategies and mindset.
  5. Spar and compete: Sparring and competing will help you to put your skills into practice and test yourself against other players.
  6. Stay healthy: eat well and get enough rest, this will help you to improve your performance and recovery during training.
  7. Stay humble and open-minded: Always be willing to learn and improve, and don’t be afraid to ask for help or guidance from your instructors.   Remember, BJJ is a lifelong journey and there’s always room for improvement.
